Jewellery With Ashes, Made Just For You

If you’re looking for jewellery made from ashes, you’ve found the right place. From my workshop in Kent I create every piece of jewellery with ashes entirely by hand — rings, necklaces, pendants, earrings, charms and more — working in recycled sterling silver, 9k and 18k gold, and platinum. Whether you want jewellery from ashes of a person you’ve lost, or you’re still exploring and simply looking for jewellery for ashes without knowing which style is right for you, I’ll guide you through every step.

Ashes into jewellery has been my speciality for over 25 years. Every piece is made from scratch, in my own hands, just for you.

Jewellery Made From Ashes — Why Handmade Is Different

There is a significant difference between jewellery made from ashes by a working jeweller and what you’ll find through most online searches. I don’t buy in mass-produced blanks and fill them. I smelt the metal, form the piece, incorporate your loved one’s ashes using one of four specialist techniques, and finish the jewellery entirely myself — in one workshop, under one roof, in Kent.

What That Means For You

Every piece of jewellery made with ashes from this workshop is built around your loved one’s remains — not around a production line. The ashes are not an add-on. They are part of the piece itself, set permanently and respectfully so that the connection is always there, even when unseen.

I work in: ∙ Recycled 925 Sterling Silver ∙ 9k Gold — White, Yellow and Rose ∙ 18k Gold — White, Yellow and Rose ∙ Platinum

If you have old jewellery you’d like recycled into a new piece of ashes jewellery — a wedding ring, inherited gold, a redundant chain — I can do that too.

Jewellery From Ashes — Bespoke or Choose From the Collection

Every piece you see in this collection is available as shown, or can be adapted to your specification. You can change the metal, the finish, the width, add an engraving, a fingerprint, a signature, or a soundwave. If you have your own idea entirely — something you’ve sketched on paper or simply described in words — I can commission a piece from scratch.

Making Jewellery From Ashes: What to Expect

The process is straightforward and handled with care at every stage:

1. Place your order and I’ll send you a free ash collection pack in the post

2. Send approximately one teaspoon of ash — that’s all that’s needed; a pinch is enough for most designs

3. I confirm safe receipt by email before any work begins

4. Your piece is handcrafted — current lead time is shown on each product page

5. All unused ashes are returned to you securely with your finished piece

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is discarded. Your loved one’s remains are treated throughout with the same respect I would give my own family.

Jewellery For Ashes — Which Style Is Right For You?

Choosing jewellery for ashes is a deeply personal decision and there is no single right answer. Some people want something visible and worn with pride — a statement ring, a pendant that catches the light. Others want something quieter: a plain band, a small charm on a bracelet, a piece that sits close to the skin and stays private.

Turning Ashes Into Jewellery — Frequently Asked Questions

What jewellery can be made from ashes?

A wide range of pieces can be made from ashes, including rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, charms, earrings, cufflinks, lapel pins and crosses. Each can be made in 925 sterling silver, 9k or 18k gold (white, yellow or rose), platinum, or titanium. If you have something specific in mind that isn’t shown in the collection, commission your own bespoke design — the range is limited only by what can be handcrafted in precious metal.

Can ashes jewellery be made from human cremation ashes?

Yes, absolutely. All the pieces in this collection are designed for human cremation ashes. The ashes are treated with complete dignity throughout — collected in a sealed pack, used in minimal quantities, and any remainder returned to you with the finished piece. I have been making jewellery from human cremation ashes for over 25 years.

How much does jewellery made from ashes cost in 2026?

Price rangeDescription
£6.99 - £50Self-filled jewelry made of base metal, steel, or brass. You fill the jewelry with ashes yourself Have a look on Amazon or Ebay
£30 - £300Jewelry made by individuals or companies that do not make their own jewelry pieces. They add ashes to existing jewelry using resin or in the same way as above. The jewelry is typically made of silver or 9k gold. You will find lots of cheaper jewellery, just have a google
£100 - £2,000Jewelry made by real jewellers who make their own jewelry pieces in their own workshop. They can make bespoke pieces or recycle your own jewelry. The price depends on the materials used.

The market for ashes jewellery broadly divides into three tiers:

My pieces sit in the third category — handmade from scratch, in recycled precious metals, with a full Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

How much does it cost to have ashes turned into diamonds?

Turning ashes into diamonds typically costs £3,000 – £10,000 or more. A word of caution: I am deeply sceptical of companies offering this service. If a business genuinely possessed a machine capable of creating diamonds from human ashes, it would be one of the most remarkable things in the world — and you would be able to visit it, watch it work, and verify it in person. Most companies offering this service keep their process in an undisclosed location. Be very careful, and research thoroughly before parting with money or, more importantly, with a loved one’s ashes.

How much ash do you need to make jewellery?

Approximately one teaspoon’s worth of ash is all that is required — and often far less. A small pinch is sufficient for most individual pieces, meaning a single teaspoon could easily produce ten to twelve items. You will never be asked to send more than you are comfortable sending, and all unused ash is always returned.

Is jewellery with ashes suitable for everyday wear?

Yes, with some straightforward care. The metal itself — silver, gold or platinum — is unaffected by everyday activity. However, it’s advisable to remove ashes jewellery before swimming, showering or bathing. Sea salt can affect silver. Pool and jacuzzi chemicals can cause tarnishing. Shampoos, soaps and beauty products can affect both silver and resin over time. With sensible care, a well-made piece of ashes jewellery will last a lifetime and beyond.

Can you make jewellery with hair instead of ashes?

Yes. Hair can be incorporated into most pieces in exactly the same way as cremation ashes. The same applies to fur. I have also set baby teeth and dog teeth, engraved heartbeat traces and voice soundwave patterns, and reproduced handwriting and signatures. If you want to incorporate something personal alongside or instead of ashes, just ask.

Can you make pet ashes jewellery?

Yes. Cremated pet ashes are structurally identical to human cremation ashes and can be used in exactly the same way. The only practical difference is the volume of ashes produced, which varies with the size of the animal. For most pet ashes pieces, the quantity available is more than sufficient. After all, for most people a beloved pet is as much a part of the family as anyone else.

How do you make ashes into jewellery — and how do I send my ashes to you?

Once you place an order I send you a complimentary ash collection pack by post. It contains a secure sealed bag and clear instructions. You send back approximately one teaspoon of ash — no more is needed. I confirm safe receipt by email, and no work begins until you know the ashes have arrived safely. All unused ash is returned to you with your finished piece, and the finished piece comes with full care instructions and a Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

How long does it take to make jewellery from ashes in the UK?

Because every piece is made entirely by hand in my own workshop, current lead times are typically 10–14 weeks. The up-to-date estimated completion date is shown on each individual product page above the Add to Cart button. If you have a specific date in mind — a birthday, anniversary, or memorial occasion — please mention it when you order and I will do everything I can to accommodate you.

Is it legal to have jewellery made from cremation ashes in the UK?

Yes, completely. There are no legal restrictions in the UK on having cremation ashes set into jewellery, wearing it, or keeping it. Many families choose to divide ashes between several family members so that more than one person can commission a piece. This is entirely lawful and increasingly common.
